Brothers Michael and James Chapman set a new Sussex Junior Festival record to help Preston Nomads under-12s win the Shield competition.
Their opening stand of 256 in the first group game against Littlehampton, Clapham and Patching has been confirmed as a record, although no official statistics have been kept during the festival's 36-year history.
Michael, 12, scored 144 not out and James, 10, hit a career-best 93.
Event organiser David Brownrigg said: "No official records are kept on things like this but it's fair to say this is the largest opening stand anyone can remember."
Michael Chapman, who also opens for Sussex under-12s, said: "It was the biggest score I have ever made, so I am really pleased. I play for Sussex as well and I am now aiming to score as many for them.
"I want to be a cricketer when I am older and play for England so, hopefully, I can carry on scoring runs and play for them."
James also plays for Sussex under-10s and football for Albion's Academy under-11s team.
He said: "I like playing cricket and I would like to be a cricketer and play for Sussex one day, but I would also like to play football. I play up front and score lots of goals like Bobby Zamora, so I want to be like him as well."
