Four people on board a yacht were towed into Eastbourne last night after running into trouble.
The 29ft Assassin developed serious engine problems as its crew tried to enter Sovereign Harbour at around 6.30pm.
Their call for assistance was passed to Dover Coastguard who asked the Eastbourne all-weather lifeboat to go to the yacht's aid.
The lifeboat's crew passed a line to the yacht to tow it out to deeper waters to check it was not damaged before bringing it back within half an hour.
Earlier, the lifeboat escorted a fishing boat into harbour after it started taking in water a mile off shore.
The 24ft boat's own pumps managed to keep the water level low enough to make its own way into port.
And, to complete a busy Sunday for rescue crews, the all-weather lifeboat towed a 30ft yacht into the harbour after it developed engine problems.
