What sort of ridiculous person is Craig Turton, writing about his attempts to secure housing development for public-sector workers in Brighton and Hove?
He proudly trumpets,"If you don't ask you don't get."
That applies to boys and girls asking their parents for sweets - not the policy a responsible council should adopt.
Property developers have the ability to pick and choose where they build new developments.
Impose high demands for low-cost accommodation and you will simply drive them away, leaving people worse off, forcing up house prices even further and thereby disadvantaging the people Coun Turton is meant to represent.
He should get off his political hobby-horse, stop making cheap jibes and start doing the job for which we reluctantly pay him.
