It seems society likes to look at but is not interested in using St Peter's Church, York Place, Brighton, and Holy Trinity Church, Blatchington Road, Hove (The Argus, June 21).
Since the Victorian era, when most communities went to church, the population has grown and become mainly secular - though most believe in God.
In recent years there has been a noticeable increase in mosques, which may indicate Britain is as much alive as the English language.
One might bear in mind the first European Union and single currency (Roman) spread from Britain across Jerusalem.
Today Latin is a dead language, whereas Jesus Christ lives for ever with God the Father.
