Help is being offered to Worthing computer workers fearing redundancy.

Major South Coast electricity supplier Seeboard is set for operational changes following a take-over by London Electricity Group.

The overhaul could mean more than 100 IT jobs, at present staffed by workers from technology consulting firm Accenture, being moved from Seeboard's Worthing offices in Southdown View Road to Plymouth.

Seeboard said the Worthing offices would be used by customer services staff while Plymouth would be the new focal point for the company's billing department.

Stressing no redundancies had been announced, an Accenture spokesman said: "Accenture announced a review of operations to staff in May this year.

"All Accenture staff were offered individual counselling on the effects of changes in the client's (Seeboard's) organisation.

"Accenture continue to keep staff regularly updated and further announcements will be made to employees through the appropriate channels."
