In a desperate bid to be heard, I'm hoping that The Argus will find my plight as unbelievable and unjust as I do.
My partner and I are living, to put it nicely, in squalor for £100 per week. We are unable to pay so are in arrears and expect to leave.
We approached the homeless persons section of Brighton and Hove City Council.
Brighton is where I was born and bred, and where my partner has lived for 20 years. On the second occasion we were again turned away.
To be eligible for assistance, applicants must meet certain criteria. Two months ago I was diagnosed epileptic plus hypoglycaemic - medical conditions I would have thought enough to qualify for help - but no.
Then we discovered I am pregnant. That is still not enough for us to be able to obtain any kind of assistance.
