A Royal Navy bomb squad was called in after shells were found in a garage in Worthing.
Two six-inch-long rounds, thought to be souvenirs from the First World War, were discovered by a man clearing out the garage in Southfields Road yesterday afternoon.
The navy officers carried out a controlled explosion and disposed of the shells at the police station's bomb pit.
