Teenage movie star Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell made an appearance at a charity screening of his new film Nicholas Nickleby last night.
Fans waited outside the UGC cinema at Brighton Marina to meet the actor, who plays crippled orphan Smike in Charles Dickens's tale.
Bell, 17, signed autographs and chatted to the crowd before introducing a special presentation at the cinema in aid of the children's charity NCH.
The all-star film, which also features Jim Broadbent, Christopher Plummer, Tom Courtenay, Juliet Stevenson, Alan Cumming, Nathan Lane and Barry Humphries, has been hailed by critics as a sparkling and witty adaptation.
However, Bell, who looked exhausted after a hard day's work on his new film and attending the UK premiere in London the previous night, offered only one small piece of advice to the audience: "It's a long film, so try to stay awake."
