East Sussex League: Glynde have now gone second in the table following an eight-wicket win at Heathfield Park.

Having elected to bat, the hosts made 178-9 with contributions from Mick March (49), Ian Cox (41) and Bob Davies (36) as Dale Tranter claimed 5-32.

The visitors wasted no time in knocking off the runs with Ollie Callf scoring 92 and Richard Harding 51 not out.

Seaford go third after edging a victory at home to Herstmonceux. The visitors were bowled out for 162 asw Chris Stanyard took 5-42 and Seaford reached their target with nine wickets down.

Newick went fourth after an eight-wicket success at home to reigning champions Fletching, who now find themselves third from bottom.

Having elected to bat, Fletching made 211-7 thanks to a belligerent 53 from Grant Horscroft and 43 from Jamie Russell. Rupert Thacker was the pick of the bowlers with 3-47 off 16 overs.

In reply, Newick were aggressive from the outset and reached their target in 38.1 overs, thanks mainly to an unbeaten 90 from Sam Carter. Support came from Liam Craig-Davies (56) and Cameron Jones (41).

DPB (Eastbourne) had the better of a draw away to Ringmer.

After 18 overs DPB were only 39-2 but contributions from Steve Hanmer (41), Mike Higgs (38), Steve Oakes (32) and Greg Osborne (22) helped them post 207-9 as Graham Pitts and skipper Gary Holder took four wickets apiece.

Ringmer took four overs to get off the mark in reply and things did not improve. Only Dave Smith (30) offered any real resistance as they clung on at 104-8 at the close.
