The resumed public inquiry into the planning application for the Falmer stadium has revealed something of the complexity facing all parties.
The University of Brighton is concerned about access to the stadium, primarily via the coach park, and the need for security on the campus site during stadium events and during the construction of the stadium.
The university has raised these issues in recent weeks and, while they may appear to be details, it is important they are resolved within the timescales agreed by the inquiry.
The club has worked successfully with both universities on a wide range of complex issues in recent months and deserves credit for the detailed work that is being undertaken.
The planning conditions that are agreed by the club must safeguard its long-term future as well as meeting the reasonable needs of the university.
Rather than any indication that the club is in a "mess" over the proposals (The Argus, June 6), Albion's fans can be assured recent events are a sign of the progress that is being made towards enabling the inspector to recommend approval.
