Invitation League: Last season's champions Findon moved up to third after picking up their second win of the season at home to Ifield.

Paul O'Sullivan hit 90 to help the home side post 215-8 and claim maximum points.

Ifield were then skittled for 152 in 40 overs, thanks to Toby Kingsbury with 6-47.

Findon captain Nigel Waller was delighted with the performance and believes his side are beginning to show the kind of form which took them to the title last season.

He said: "We played very well and for the first time this season were in control.

"Our performances have slowly improved and we are gradually getting back to how we were last year, but we are not there yet.

"Hopefully, victory will have given the lads a bit of confidence and we can build on that and when the wickets dry out, be able to pick up a few more points."

Lindfield picked up their second win of the season after a five-wicket home success over struggling Burgess Hill. Anthony Holmes impressed for the visitors with 51 but was the only threat for Hill who finished 151 all out.

Lindfield reached their target inside 42 overs to finish on 152-5, thanks to an unbeaten 56 by Kevin Chamberlain.

Last season's division two champions Broadwater could only manage 58-8 against Goring, but it was still enough to secure a home draw against the division's bottom side.

Graham Cornish (4-13) helped restrict the hosts, who were replying to a Goring total of 196-6. Paul Davis top scored for the visitors with 41.

Division two leaders Pulborough suffered their first defeat of the season by 33 runs at home to Southwick, who move up to second place.

It looked like business as usual for the table-toppers as Gavin Clark hit an impressive 68.

But the hosts lost their last nine wickets for 55 runs, their last five for five and were 129 all out.

Steve Martin (6-19) did the damage for Southwick, who earlier had posted 162 all out off 47 overs in reply, thanks to a solid 64 by Chris Summers.

Crawley stay in touch with the leading pair after a 68-run home win against rock-bottom Eastergate.

The home side raced to 229-3, having been put in, after a first-wicket partnership of 159 between Pragash Podiratnum (94) and Andy Wales (68 not out).

The visitors, who are still searching for their first win since being relegated from division one last season, only had ten men and were 161 all out.

Sean Jones scored 73 to help second-bottom Billingshurst draw at Ansty.

Will Gooda (30) and Peter Burroughs (24) also made useful contributions but good bowling spells by Chris Nutter (3-59) and two wickets apiece from Barry Crouch and Simon Parsons left the visitors on 243-8.

The target always looked beyond Ansty who made 149-9 after stubborn stands from Paul Osborn (47), Andy Hadfield (25) and James Robinson (14 not out).

Billingshurst skipper Chris Shambrook ensured honours were even as he ripped through the middle order to claim 5-34.

Keymer and Hassocks could only draw at home to Barns Green despite good knocks from John Carr (65), Tony Chad (45) and Adi Tatford (43) in a 219-5 score from 46 overs.

A stubborn batting display by Nick Woodward, who finished three runs short of his century, helped the visitors to 163-8 in reply.
