Hove ace Julie Pullin has to win two matches against fellow Brits today to secure a place at Wimbledon.

Pullin is involved in a four-strong play-off for a wild card into the first round draw.

The left-hander faces Anna Hawkins of Wiltshire. If she wins that she must then beat the winner of the clash between Middlesbrough-born Sarah Borwell and Surrey's Hannah Collin to compete in the Wimbledon singles for the ninth year in a row.

All of the matches are being played on the grass practice courts for Wimbledon at Raynes Park.

The play-offs have been introduced by Tim Henman's former coach David Felgate, the LTA's recently appointed Performance Director, in a bid to make wild card awards more meaningful.

Pullin has lost in the first round in each of her previous eight Wimbledon appearances.

Two wild cards are up for grabs in the men's play-off, which features eight players.

Worthing left-hander Martin Lee, back in action after knee surgery, has a protected ranking and he is expected to get an automatic wild card.
