Well done The Argus (May 24). The headline "Sports arena a must" says it all.
It is time to focus on projects which respond to Brighton and Hove's future growth and cultural and social needs.
Black Rock is a council designated site for redevelopment, sports and family leisure.
The Keep Sussex Skating campaign (KSS) is for a new ice arena at Black Rock.
Mr Christian (Letters, May 28) is anxious there will be a 12,000-seat arena, which would tower above the cliffs. So is KSS.
If Mr Christian had checked his texts, he would see the KSS proposal is for just one 4,000-seat arena, conditional upon the building not rising above the cliff face.
The council knows this as do the members of the public.
We have studied chapter and verse.
However, Mr Christian has shed valuable light upon an area of mutual grief. His letter indicates he is an uninformed taxpayer who, like many of us, would prefer the council to get its skates on in providing the right design and best sustainability for the future seafront developments.
KSS is appealing to the council to shed some light upon just what is happening at Black Rock.
Since January, the public consultation results have not been published.
Also, it is not clear exactly what the council and developers plan to take in and leave out.
Anyone who wishes to meet KSS can come along to the V-Fair for voluntary community groups at midday on Sunday at the Brighton Corn Exchange.
