Subitango! combines the dance and music of Tango Argentino, performed by the UK's leading tango couple Mina and Giraldo and the quartet Tango Siempre.

The show illustrates the history and development of this art from its origins in the Buenos Aires underworld in the early 1900s through to the jazz-influenced Nuevo Tango of Astor Piazzolla.

Mina and Giraldo have performed tango in more than 100 locations across the UK and Europe.

In 1996, they were part of the British delegation to the Tango World Summit Conference in Uruguay.

In 1995 and 1997, they toured with the acclaimed Bolivian music group Rumillajta and, in 1998, they set up the UK tour of Danza Columbia.

They were selected to dance in Madonna's film Evita, choreographed the Channel Four film Dance and featured in Deborah Bull's BBC dance season programme.

During Spring 2000, Mina performed for the visiting Argentinian Tango company Tango Por Dos at the Peacock Theatre.

Tango Sempre have developed a reputation as the UK's leading tango ensemble since their formation in 1998.

The quartet features Pete Rosser on accordion/bandoneon, Ros Stephen on violin, Kylie Davies on double bass and Jonathan Taylor on piano.

As an ensemble, they have combined their diverse skills with an in-depth study of traditional tango to create a unique sound which conveys the power and vulnerability of the music.

Tango Siempre present a diverse musical programme spanning all eras and styles of tango, including original arrangements of traditional tangos, milongas and waltzes, the thrilling nuevo tango of Astor Piazzolla and new compositions by their accordionist and bandoneonist Pete Rosser.

This looks set to be an unforgettable evening of sensuous dance, sultry music and sizzling passion.
