It is no wonder the public are confused about the future of council housing and about the housing crisis generally.

The publication of the "options appraisal" carried out by the Brighton and Hove City Council's consultants Chapman Hendy in May last year was hardly publicised.

This document should be read by every citizen and not just by tenants.

It includes, for example, the information that the public cost of selling our homes to a housing association would be £7.8million (p 111).

I suggest JL Evans (Letters, May 29) contacts the council now and asks for a copy.
