The Dome cinema is staging Worthing's first children's arts festival next month.

The mix of workshops, performances and films will take place at the historic seafront venue from July 24 to July 31.

Top of the bill is Richard Durrant, the internationally-acclaimed classical guitarist, who will be performing a concert as part of Dome Fiesta Fun, the opening night of the festival.

Other highlights will be performances by Jane Bom-Bane and Nick Pynn as part of Worthing's Fringe Festival, craft workshops in partnership with Worthing Museum and an evening of silent film comedy with Harold Lloyd's Speedy, with live musical accompaniment from Neil Brandt.

Belle Stennett, managing director of the Dome, is excited about the week.

She said: "This is an ideal place to bring together those involved in all parts of the arts world.

"We hope local children will have fun expressing themselves, making friends and maybe discovering some new artistic talents."

Dome Fiesta Fun is taking place on July 24 at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £12, £10 and £5.

An Evening With Speedy is on Saturday July 26, with tickets at £7.50 for adults and £5 for children.

All tickets are available on 01903 823112.
