Splash FM, Worthing's new radio station, has unveiled its line-up.

The Breakfast Show will be fronted by Simon Osborne, until recently programme controller of Crawley-based Mercury FM.

Simon will also take on the key role of programme controller, tasked with the job of making the station popular in its catchment area.

He will be on air on weekdays from 6am to 10am with a show featuring the station's Splash Crew of Paul, Zoe, John and Cath.

News editor Nick Hatfield will keep the audience updated every 30 minutes with his team of reporters in Worthing and the surrounding area.

There will be local weather forecasts, tide times and sea conditions, with reports from Worthing Beach Office, plus travel news from the AA.

Other attractions include local business news in business breakfast, a featured school of the day, a daily quiz, review of the newspapers, job file and Around The Web In 60 Seconds.

On Fridays, Splash will team up with Worthing's Dome Cinema to review new films for the weekend.

Dave Adams, a former student at Boundstone Community College, Lancing, and a Ferring resident, will front the afternoon show until 6pm.

Dave, until recently a Southern FM presenter, said: "I am looking forward to chatting to Worthing's wealth of characters in the Armchair Afternoon feature."

Listeners will also have a chance to check their consumer rights with Margaret Butler, from trading standards, and listen to book reviews with Simon Edwards, plus Anna Burtenshaw in the Greenfingers spot every Monday.

Splash FM's evening news and evening show will be hosted by Gina Milson.

After 9pm, newcomer John Roberts, from Shoreham, will be in charge until 11pm before embarking on the wind down Love At 11 hour.

John has been with the station for more than a year and is a familiar face at roadshows and Splash FM's match night entertainment at Worthing Thunder basketball games.

Peter McIntosh will present Friday On My Mind, kicking off the weekend with a gig guide and weekend sailing forecast.

Peter said he was also on the look out for local bands for his Stage One feature.

The Saturday morning show, Worthing Wake Up, is fronted by Karen Morton, a familiar voice in Ireland where she has worked at RTE and Radio One.

Saturday afternoon's Game On sport and music show will be fronted by news and sport man Nick Hatfield and his team. It will include match reports and comment from local and national events.

Sunday mornings will be a mellow wake-up with Patrick Woodward and Easy Sunday. It will include a thought provoking and entertaining look at the news, with music and a reflective thought or two.

David Cunningham will move things up a pace from 9am on Sunday.

David is a founder director of Splash and is delighted to be on the airwaves of Worthing after first calling for a local radio licence some ten years ago.

Another Boundstone old boy, David, 38, lives in Shoreham with his wife and two boys.

He said: "It is great to be in my home town at last with truly local radio.

"I'll be warming things up for the zany Dave Benson Phillips and Emma Mills and the Brunch Bunch show at 11am."

David Hamilton will be on the airwaves in the afternoon with his Million Sellers show. He played a key role in the licence bid that Splash FM assembled to win the franchise.

Businessman Dave Hunt, who lives in Broadwater, has also been recruited to host a show.
