Glenn Sully will step down as joint-manager of Sidley at the end of this season citing a lack of commitment from players as his reason for going.

The 43-year-old told the players of his decision after last night's match with Burgess Hill although fellow boss Peter Heritage and chairman Dickie Day were informed last Saturday.

Sully said: "I am disappointed more than ever before with the overall commitment to training, and even playing matches, of a number of players.

"It is not all, and there are plenty of exceptions, but it has become more and more.

"It is not just training but players are more prepared to miss games on a Saturday or midweek, and not through work commitments.

"The other major disappointment is that it is not just the younger players who are showing a lack of commitment but increasingly it is the more experienced ones who I expect more from.

"The crux of the matter it is if they are not prepared to show the commitment which is required then why should I? They have to be fully commited, as I am, or it is not worth doing."

Heritage is expected to remain as manager.
