I was pleased to read (Letters April 7) John Baine was not opposed initially to building a stadium for the Albion on the Shoreham Harbour site.

While this and other sites pose problems, I suspect Falmer has raised the most objections from residents and it is a shame Brighton and Hove City Council have not put the energy they have put into pushing for Falmer into overcoming the difficulties posed by other sites.

As a long-term Albion supporter, I don't want to see them go out of business.

I think they can survive at Withdean long enough for an open-minded survey of the options to take place.

Unfortunately, the council has moved as fast to rule out the other options as Bobby Zamora taking a free kick.
