A man killed when his car was in collision with a refuse lorry was named today.
Francis Turner, 32, from Littlehampton, died when his red Ford Sierra was involved in a head-on crash with the refuse lorry outside the Oystercatcher pub on the eastbound carriageway of Crookthorn Lane in Climping early yesterday.
Mr Turner died at the scene but the driver of the truck, a man from Portsmouth, escaped uninjured.
The road was closed for nine hours while police carried out an examination of the scene and oil was removed from the road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the 6.30am crash to contact them.
