Three Bridges boss Micky Taylor spent his 55th birthday in bed with flu which meant he missed his side's 5-2 win at home to Sidley.

Pat Massaro got back on the scoring trail with a hat-trick and there was a goal apiece for Jamie Edwards and former Lewes player Ryan Hackett on his debut. Replies came from Paul Balch and a Graham Morris penalty.

Taylor, who was given regular updates on the game by phone, said: "It was a good win on a tricky surface because the pitch was hard. The main thing was we bounced back after our two recent defeats."

Ringmer and Sidlesham shared a 3-3 draw at the Caburn.

The hosts twice came from behind to lead 3-2 with five minutes remaining but a breakaway goal from Glen Bridgeman, who scored with a 30-yard lob over the stranded Sam Figg, earned Sidlesham a point.

On target for Ringmer were Warren Byerley, Grant Bean with a tap-in from Paul Thomsett's free kick and Ian Costello.

Mark Wozniak and Bridgeman got the other goals for Sidlesham, who lost the dangerous Scott Tipper after half an hour through injury.

Southwick boss Sammy Donnelly admits he is enjoying managing the latest goalscoring Dunk.

Seventeen-year-old Carl Dunk was on target twice for Wickers on Saturday as they moved into the top six.

Donnelly was formerly in charge of Carl's dad Mark when they were together at Saturday's opponents Whitehawk.

He said: "Carl is a striker and Mark played in midfield for me but both are comfortable on the ball.

"Carl has probably got a better temperament than his dad and that will stand him in good stead."

Donnelly praised a superb first-half display in which Jamie Ash also netted as Wickers went 3-0 up.

Simon Rowland rewarded a Whitehawk improvement after the break by heading in and it finished 3-1.

Hassocks boss Dave John felt his side's 1-1 home draw with Chichester was a fair outcome.

Jamie Hewitt put Chi ahead after Chris Hewitt had been caught in possession.

Chi's failure to deal with a cross allowed Mickey Turner a close-range leveller and both sides went close to snatching the win.

Wick's talented youngsters were shot down by a golden oldie in a 7-2 defeat at Pagham.

The visitors played some nice football but had no answer to Adie Miles, who scored a hat-trick.

Robbie Josephs (2), Louis Haga-Hammond and Russell Hardwell were also on target for the Lions.

Lee Webber and Danny Curd replied.

Eastbourne Town were promoted from division two following a 2-1 win at Shinewater.
