I am at a complete loss to understand how George W Bush and Tony Blair can lead us into war and continue to go to church.

The wonderful moral code of the Bible teaches "blessed are the peace-makers" and "love thy neighbour as thyself".

I find Christianity and warfare to be utterly incompatible and believe both leaders to be complete hypocrites. I would be interested to hear the views of Christian readers on the subject.

The UK is no longer a world power and the situation in Iraq is nothing to do with us. Other atrocities occur elsewhere, for example in Zimbabwe, in a former Commonwealth country with which we have close ties.

Tony Blair chooses to ignore the situation in Zimbabwe because that country has no oil.

The UK and US are not supported by any other nation except Spain. Even Germany, which has started two world wars in the past 90 years, does not agree with Mr Blair.

The Germans have learned that war is terrible and destructive and the suffering is immense. It is a pity our leaders have not also learned this lesson.

My family suffered terribly in the Second World War. Their home in Southampton was bombed.

Most of my family was killed. My parents, who were both dreadfully injured, were the only survivors and were completely destitute.

It is a miracle I am here at all. Surely we can learn from all this suffering that war is wrong.

Blair's policies are based on "back me or sack me". Now is the time to sack him.
