Crawley Down moved three points clear of second-bottom Pottage in County League division two after an eventful 1-1 draw with Eastbourne United.

The result gave Darren Barker his first point since returning to the club as joint manager.

Darren Tidey's early goal put Crawley Down ahead at half time. After the interval, Chris Barker was sent off on the hour mark for conceding the first of two penalties, both awarded for fouls on Richard Piper.

Goalkeeper Danny Todman kept out the first kick from Scott McDonald but ten minutes later Nima Cham scored from the spot after Mark Lacey had been penalised.

Westfield climbed three places to tenth after beating Mile Oak 3-1 with goals from Alan Johnson (two) and Darrol Parris.

Darren Morris hit the lone reply.

Manager Steve Johnson said: "We want to finish as high as we can. Certainly, top half is what we expect and if we could finish in the top six so much the better."

Worthing United were held to a 1-1 draw by rock-bottom Oving.

Neil Richardson put Worthing ahead at half time but Brian Clarke's second- half reply earned the visitors a rare point.

Steyning Town beat Wealden 2-1 with first-half goals from James Davis and Ben Garman. Darren Gearing replied for the visitors ten minutes from time.

Shinewater Association won 1-0 at Seaford, thanks to 28th-minute own goal by Darren Moore.
