Haywards Heath spoiled the Norwich party and stayed on course for an end-of-term celebration of their own.

Heath conjured two tries in the closing stages to win 26-15 at Norwich and remain favourites for the London One title.

They left it late having gone 14-0 up in eight minutes through two superb Andy Cook tries, both of which were converted by Owen Ashton.

Norwich fought back to 14-10 at the break and were one point up for much of the second period.

A pre-planned move involving the back row and scrum half Alex Meredith set up Henry Goodburn for a scorching finish to ease Heath back in front.

Nick Dinsdale powered over late on with Ashton converting to seal the points.

Skipper Meredith said: "It was Norwich's centenary celebration and they had a big crowd who really got behind them. We spent 40 or 50 minutes chasing the game when we should have played at our own pace.

"I'm surprised Norwich are not higher up the league. They had an excellent back row and their backs offered quite a bit but I thought we got complacent after our good start."

Heath face another tough trip next Saturday as they go to London Nigerians. Southend remain top after a 55-19 win at Harlow.
