A market research firm has published some good news for the beleaguered internet industry.
Traffic over the internet is set to double every year for the next five years, according to IDC.
The news should be a boost for telecoms equipment suppliers such as Nortel, Cisco and Ericsson, which has its European corporate headquarters at Burgess Hill.
According to IDC, the growth in the number of internet users will continue to be an important driver of traffic but the migration of web surfers to broadband will be even more significant.
