Virgin Trains is cutting the number of trains running through Sussex in an effort to improve capacity.

Virgin runs two services to destinations across the country daily from Brighton, two from Gatwick and one from Redhill in Surrey.

Three of the company's trains from other parts of Britain terminate at Brighton, one at Gatwick and one at Redhill.

But from September there will only be two Virgin trains travelling out of Brighton and two trains terminating at Brighton.

A spokesman for Virgin trains said: "We are reducing the number of services as part of work we have been doing with the Strategic Rail Authority to improve timetable reliability and capacity."
