Teenager Lucy Sutton is so mad about pop idol Gareth Gates she has turned her family home into a shrine to the singing sensation.

The 13-year-old schoolgirl has plastered every inch of the landing, hallway and porch of the house with 3,200 photos of her heart-throb.

Parents Anna, 42, and Roy, 50, reckon Lucy has spent thousands of pounds on Gareth Gates memorabilia, including books, videos, T-shirts and CDs.

Amazingly, the couple say they don't mind having their entire house taken over by the stuttering, spiky-haired singer who came second in Pop Idol.

In fact her mum might even have influenced her daughter's decision to decorate. She once covered an entire wall in the kitchen with pictures of Robbie Williams.

Visitors to their home in Seaside, Eastbourne, are greeted by a huge poster of the star as they enter the porch and are then overwhelmed by the sheer number of pictures plastered from floor to ceiling.

Lucy, who says her dream would be to marry the star, said she first asked mum Anna if she could stick pictures on the walls of the upstairs landing after running out of space in her bedroom.

But over the past few months her amazing collection has spread downstairs and now covers the entire hallway.

Anna said: "I said she could because we are planning to redecorate the hallway and landing anyway so it doesn't matter if the wallpaper gets damaged.

"But we will put off that until Lucy falls out of love with him. It would be terrible to take it all down after she spent so long doing it."

Lucy reckons her parents, along with brother Chris, 19, will have a long wait before her obsession with the pop star fades.

She said: "I like his looks and his hair, his smile and his dimples. I'm desperate to meet him, although I think I would faint. I would ask for his mobile number and ask him to marry me. It would be a dream to meet him. I'm not interested in boys, just Gareth.

"I've counted all my pictures on the walls and I've got exactly 3,200, although I put a new one up almost every day.

"I get them from magazines mainly and they cost about £2 a time so I must have spent a fortune. I'm sure I must be his biggest fan. I just want to meet him so much."

Anna admitted her own obsession with Robbie Williams made it very hard to halt the images of Gareth Gates filling the family home.

She said: "I can't really blame her because I did exactly the same, although I took my posters down because we wanted to redecorate.

"Her dad and brother are happy about it as well. We all understand she is a massive fan. It has become a bit of a tourist attraction as well.

"We keep having kids knocking on the door, wanting to have a look."
