Burgess Hill took a step closer to winning County League division one with a comfortable 3-0 win at Littlehampton, who have already resigned themselves to relegation.

The Hillians ended with four teenagers on the pitch including Bertie Foster, the 16-year-old son of former Albion skipper Steve. Foster has just been released by Swindon but is shortly to go on trial with Portsmouth.

Manager Danny Bloor said: "I got something from the game and it shows there are some cracking youngsters at Leylands Park.

"We need seven wins now and mathematically we have won the league.

"We have 12 games remaining and I want to go out with a bang. If we are to go out of this league I want to go out in style. One hundred points is our aim."

Goals came from 18-year-old Nicky Sullivan, Ashley Carr and Leo Day won it for Hillians.

Meanwhile, Horsham YMCA did their chances of taking second place no harm with a 4-2 victory over doomed Wick. Nick Flint grabbed a brace and there were further goals from Matt Duffield and Joel O'Hara.

Paul Morby struck a post for Wick before YM had opened the scoring while their consolations came from Mark Price and Adam Stallard.

YM boss John Suter: "Both sides missed chances but I felt we had more openings than they did.

"It would be nice to get second place in the table. It would be the first time in this club's history."
