Danny Midgley has been hit by an injury blow as he looks to make an impact with the UMM Clippers in Maine.

Tendonitis in both kness and bursitis did not, however, prevent him from training at the Boston Celtics practice court on a recent road trip.

Clippers were in Boston to play Fisher and lost 84-65, despite ten points, five rebounds and two blocks from their former Brighton Bear.

He was restricted to five minutes in the 30-point hammering of Thomas, hitting four points in that time.

Clippers had an eight day break before their next game and Midgley, who comes from Burgess Hill said: "Hopefully with the intense treatment I'm getting I'll be able to play good minutes.

"Our next game is against Husson which is our biggest rival and we haven't beaten them in eight years. They are always very tough."

Viewers in Sussex enjoyed seeing Danny's older brother Richard shine again for California Golden Bears.

He recovered from early foul trouble to chip in with 12 points on five-of-seven field shooting as visitors UCLA Bruins were seen off 80-69.

That took Cal to 7-0 in the Pac-10 Conference, their best start to a season sicne 1957, but they suffered their first defeat on Thursday, going down 75-70 at Arizona Sun Devils.

Midgley had two points and six assists but it was not enough to silence a crowd of almost 10,000.
