If you are still clinging to wispy memories of Christmas, keep them alive with this one-more-time revival of Wynyard Browne's gentle, seasonal play.

First produced 55 years ago, it has graphic messages about that perpetual battleground, the family.

With our nearest and dearest, we play a continual cat-and-mouse game, circling, probing and feinting - we talk unrestrainedly yet manage to avoid that troublesome inconvenience, the truth. Never more so than when we gather for Christmas.

This Middle Ground Theatre Company production stars favourites Tony Britton, whose theatre and TV career started the year the play was written, and Brian Cant, remembered for far more than his parts in Dr Who, Z Cars and an awful lot of pantos.

Well acted against a realistic background of the snow-covered vicarage, this is a long production - more than two and a half hours - which provides solid value for the price of your seat.
