In his wacky conspiracy theory, Keith Jago (Letters, January 24) asks "could a vacant coach station mean that selling Royal York buildings is made easier?"

Er, I don't think so, Keith, though, to be honest, we've never given this hypothetical question a moment's thought.

Brighton and Hove City Council had nothing to do with Howard Trevette losing his franchise to sell National Express tickets. He is still using the office for other purposes - and the council is still leasing it to him.

It all makes no difference whatever to coach services to and from the city, which continue running exactly as before, still using Pool Valley.

Keith is welcome to continue calling our press office for information to help him develop these theories.

We look forward to his next anti-council blast, which could well be about Iraq, according to my sources.

As we also gave him our list of local media contacts, we expect wall-to-wall coverage. Don't let anyone accuse us of being unhelpful.
