A Shortage of office space in Sussex meant the county bucked the trend as the UK experienced a fall in demand for commercial property.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors reported a drop in demand during the three months to the end of December.
The office sector bore the brunt of the decline, with 47 per cent more surveyors reporting a fall in demand than a rise.
The figure was unchanged in Sussex.
However, the overall figures were softened by a slight upturn in the retail sector.
