She has charmed Nelson Mandela, sung Happy Birthday to Mohammed Ali and duetted live and on record with Jamiroquai's Jay Kay.
She's also a three-times Mobo award-winner but for more than two years Beverley Knight has been completely out of the limelight.
The singer used her time away to mature and grow and now she is back with the fabulous new album, Who I Am.
The record has gone from strength to strength this year, entering the album charts at number 7, selling more than 200,000 copies and is now well on its way to platinum status.
She has had nominations for this year's Mobo's and for the prestigious Mercury Music Award - one of 12 acts up for Albums of the Year.
Shape Of You, Reshaped follows three hit singles from Who I Am including the top ten smash ShouldaWoulda Coulda and an acclaimed sell-out UK tour last spring.
"I've been through many changes," she admits of the living-and-learning process she has undergone.
"All of which has brought me to a very good place indeed!"
"I've found out lots about the industry I work in but also, and more importantly, about me, myself and I.
"Perhaps most significant in all of this was the fact that, during it all, I came out of a long-term relationship. That was a big old thing for me."
As the title suggests, it is an album which deals primarily with the thorny question of identity.
"It's about the people and experiences that have shaped me and with where I am headed to next," she confirms.
But Beverley predicts that it is a journey blessed with a happy ending.
"I'm pleased to say that I've come out on the far side with my soul intact, with a clear sense of exactly who Beverley is and (she laughs) with a smile still on my face!"
Shape You - Reshaped sees the 29-year-old teaming up with former Fugees superstar and musical guru Wyclef Jean.
Wyclef and Beverley met up at this summer's Capital FM Party In The Park and very quickly decided to work together.
They met up in New York a couple of weeks later and as soon as the pair hit the studio the original idea of a straightforward remix turned into a whole new song in its production, lyrics and melody - hence Shape Of You, Reshaped.
'Clef's heavy production magic turned the tune on its head to create a huge floor-filling hip hop jam with Beverley's powerhouse vocals in full effect - even lapsing into Punjabi wails as the tracks climaxed.
The tune also features a rhyme from 'Clef's new signing, 19-year-old rap prodigy Hollywood.
Wyclef and Hollywood also appear in the video for the track.
The CD features this new mix as well as the original and stunning live cover of Coldplay's classic track, Trouble.
Support comes from funked-up pop chanteuse Rhianna, the hot new signing to Sony S2. Tickets cost £16. Call the box office on 01273 709709 to book and further details.
