Comedian Frank Skinner and former EastEnder Mark Bannerman lent celebrity status to the christening of the son of the editor of Britain's official Elvis magazine.

Andrew Hearn, 34, became friendly with the well-known duo after interviewing them for features in his magazine.

Chat show king Frankie and Mr Bannerman, who played Gianni Di Marco in the hit soap, sat with other guests at the reception in the Ardington Hotel, Steyne Gardens, Worthing.

Earlier they had joined Mr Hearn and his wife Polly, 27, for the christening of their four-month-old son, Toby, at Christ Church, Worthing.

The ceremony was conducted by Estelle Brown, a former Elvis backing singer, who is also a minister and flew from Los Angeles for the occasion.

Mr Hearn said: "We have interviewed a lot of celebrity Elvis fans.

"The christening itself was perfect. We have had an absolutely wonderful day.

"Toby is our first child and he was well-behaved throughout. Everything went really well."
