The time has come to make serious calls for the Archbishop of Westminster's resignation.
I know the Archbishop realises he made an error of judgement and regrets appointing Father Michael Hill chaplain at Gatwick but, when all is said and done, he was aware of Father Hill's tendencies and the buck stops with him.
If he had reacted sooner, children would have been protected from this sick man, instead of which fresh children were open to abuse as he was free to roam in an environment where he was trusted and people thought their children safe.
If this was a civil servant accused of a similar misdemeanour and a senior government official was aware, both parties would resign before being ousted. However, there appears to be no one in the Catholic Church who wants to oust the Archbishop.
Since all this first came to light, the Archbishop has been promoted, which really beggars belief. We all make errors of judgement in life and, although he says he regrets his error, the repercussions of this are far worse than a financial scandal or anything else that could be put right in time.
Some of those children whose lives have been wrecked will never forget what has been done to them and may never lead normal lives as adults. This is what the Archbishop should have on his conscience. For this reason I really don't see how he can go on. What does everyone else think?
