Brighton and Hove City Council is keen to encourage recycling by doorstep collections every fortnight at thousands of homes.
But even recyclers are not keen enough to collect boxes on December 25, which is what it says in an official leaflet.
In making that mistake, the council came up with a real Christmas turkey.
