I agree with Sue Johns (Letters, November 21) the flats in Denmark Road, Portslade, will not be sold as habitable once they have been torn apart in the search for a stabilising solution.
I believe they will be sold along with the ground they are sitting on. The decision to move us tenants out is a very cold Christmas present from Brighton and Hove City Council. The letter sent to every resident
on October 16 stated: "Please be assured that there is no health and safety risk at any of the properties."
The council could have delayed the tactless and very unfeeling verbal eviction notice of three months that was thrust upon us at the residents' meeting on November 19 - just one month after the "everything is okay" letter - until after Christmas.
