Brighton and Hove residents are being asked whether they want a new controlled parking zone.

Brighton and Hove City Council starts consultation in Westbourne ward, which includes Poets Corner, on Monday, November 25.

People will be given a leaflet, map and a questionnaire so that they can have their say.

The new scheme is part of a review of controlled parking zones in the city.

There have already been meetings with residents and councillors.

There will be a staffed exhibition of the plans at Hove Methodist Church Hall in St Patrick's Road on Thursday, December 5, between 10am and 6pm; Friday, December 6, from noon until 8pm; and on Saturday, December 7, from 10am until 4pm.

An unstaffed exhibition will run at Hove Town Hall in the foyer between Monday, November 25, and Saturday, January 4, between 9am and 5pm.

Transport councillor Simon Battle said: "These proposals aim to make it easier for people to park near to their homes and will improve parking enforcement.

"We are trying to tailor the scheme to fit the specific needs of the area."
