A £10,000 reward has been offered for information about a stabbing in East Sussex as the victim fights for his life in hospital.

Operation Billow was launched last week after a 31-year-old fish and chip shop owner was stabbed outside his business, the Anchor Fish Bar in Eversfield Place, St Leonards, on October 19.

He remains in a serious condition at the Conquest Hospital, Hastings.

Officers believe up to 20 men were involved in a fight near the seafront, in front of shops.

Three men were arrested but later released on bail.

Sussex Police have put up £10,000 for information which might lead to the arrest and conviction of those who stabbed the man.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen anyone running from the scene into Warrior Square or along the seafront."

The name of the victim has not been released by police, who operate data protection guidelines.

Police are anxious to speak to a man and a blonde woman who went into the Promenade Supershop in Eversfield Place around the time of attack.

Anyone with information should contact the Operation Billow incident room on 0845 6070999.
