Goals from Matt Geard and Ben Andrews helped Burgess Hill to a 2-0 victory over Southwick in the top of the table clash at Leylands Park.
Victory for the Hillians took them nine points clear at the top of County League division one.
Geard opened the scoring with a penalty on nine minutes after Mark Burt had brought down Ashley Carr and Geard also set up the second midway through the second half, crossing for Andrews to slot home.
Hillians boss Danny Bloor said: "It was a game we desperately wanted to win and my players showed a lot of passion and commitment."
