A brother and sister are making waves with their home-made surfboards and surfwear - but their spelling leaves something to be desired.
Steve Darch and Mandy McGovern, are among the select band of people who custom make their own surf equipment for clients.
That means callers to their shop in Rottingdean, can demand any shape, size or pattern they want.
However, the pair initially feared their business venture could sink due to their choice of name for the shop in West Street - Filf.
Filth is a surfing term used to describe high waves. Mandy and Steve chose to spell it differently to show a bit of "Brighton attitude".
Steve, 37, said: "We've had a few people saying if we're going to use the word, we should spell it right.
But I like it. It's catchy and unusual."
Surfwear designer Mandy, 36, said: "It's quite funny having a place called Filf in the middle of a posh little village."
After taking up boardmaking as a trade 15 years ago, Steve now produces about six boards a week at his workshop in Saltdean.
Among his clients is Brighton-based Cliff Cox, the current British Masters Champion.
