Hastings and Bexhill will be the place to be in Sussex One next Saturday as they tackle title rivals Uckfield.

Both sides had decent wins on Saturday. Outside half Paul Sandeman was superb for Hastings in their 35-17 home success over Horsham, scoring a try, two conversions and two penalties as well as orchestrating his side's best attacking work.

Dave Milham (2), Andy Hitch and teenager Roger Roberts also scored tries while Craig Burgess made his senior debut at scrum half.

Uckfield were 47-0 home winners over Hellingly.

Crowborough left it very late to snatch a 12-8 win at Pulborough.

There were just three minutes left when David Groombridge took a quick penalty and sent Jim Ball in at the posts. Keith Brooker converted.

Warren Malherbe scored Crowborough's first try after a Chris Brazier score had helped put Pulborough 8-0 up.

Newick's 41-5 win over Sussex Police featured two tries in the first 13 minutes from winger Phil Campbell. Tom Elliott, Elston and Curtis also crossed.

Old Brightonians scored a 32-10 win over Ditchling in Sussex Three thanks to tries from Mark Dodd, Seb Akillian, Vic Heal and Tom Major. Akillian added three conversions and two penalties.

Shoreham were at their best early in the second half as they beat Robertsbridge 51-0.

New centre Andy Day scored his first two tries with Charlie Connell, Nigel Stevens, Kevin Hodges, Stellious Panayiotou, Gene Cooper, Shaun O'Connor and Gary Falk also crossing.
