Our picks of the week: Nana Mouskouri, Spanish guitar virtuoso Eduardo Nibela, new sensation Martin Greech and the Rythmix project.

Nana Mouskouri, Dome Concert Hall, Brighton, October 21
The one-time Eurovision contestant comes to Brighton with her mixture of popular folk, jazz and classical music.

Once kicked out of classical music school for playing jazz on the side, the bespectacled one has gone on to sell more than 200 million records worldwide and record with artists such as Joan Baez and Harry Belafonte.

Tickets cost £18.50 to £22.50. Call 01273 709709.

Eduardo Nibela, Pavilion Theatre, Brighton, October 24
Spanish guitar virtuoso Eduardo Nibela comes to Brighton after a sell-out world tour.

It is a great opportunity to catch the world-class musician performing his own flamenco-jazz compositions.

He will be accompanied by his new quartet, consisting of another guitar, percussion and double bass.

Tickets cost £9 (£7 concessions). Call 01273 709709.

Martin Grech, Concorde 2, Brighton, October 18
Anyone who has heard Mark and Lard's recent single of the week, Open Heart Zoo, will be familiar with the phenomenon that is Martin Grech.

That his music has drawn comparisons to Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails and Krautrock gives some inkling of the potent brew at work here but add to that the falsetto vocals of Thom Yorke or Jeff Buckley.

Tickets cost £5. Call 01273 772770.

Rhythmix 2002, Dome Concert Hall, Brighton, October 23
The Rhythmix project has been encouraging youth music-making throughout the South-East.

Here is the chance to hear what young people from Brighton and Hove came up with.

Music ranges from gospel to classical. You can also catch a glimpse of the Rhythmix workshops in action.

Tickets are free but need to be reserved in advance on 01273 709709.
