My house was built in 1957, not on a badger sett but near one.
I have lived here ever since and never had a problem with them. With the new law to protect them, they have obviously grown in number out of proportion to the region.
After 45 years, I am beginning to be visited by the animals looking for new lodgings.
Last year, some very thick electrical cable was chewed up, disconnecting my fountain's water pump completely.
This was not the work of a cat or fox but a badger thinking it was a juicy worm. Three weeks ago, a great deep hole was dug in my front garden.
I suggest anyone wanting to rescue these poor beasts gives them a home in their back garden, leaves the people of Saltdean in peace and stops parading in front of our houses.
