I am doing some research for the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum.
As part of the current re-assessment of the collections, I have recently completed a survey of 57 items from the cooper's workshop at Tamplin's Phoenix Brewery in Brighton.
Some tools are stamped with the name G Boxall, some with Henty and there is a copy of an indenture certificate for C Connor dated 1912.
Maybe a reader worked there, remembers someone who did or has already researched this subject?
I would very much like to hear from anyone with any information relating to the cooperage they would like to share.
