Colin Morgan wrote regarding both the pricing policy for senior citizens and the internal architecture of the Odeon, Brighton (Letters, September 12).

As the general manager of the cinema, it is my obligation to reply to Mr Morgan's letter and correct the inaccuracies.

Firstly, Mr Morgan suggests we do not offer concessions for senior citizens after 5pm. This is not the case. Our concessions for senior citizens are available all day, every day.

Indeed, we take our responsibilities to senior citizens very seriously and just over a year ago introduced "Senior Screen" on Thursday mornings. For £2, we offer a suitable film and free coffee and tea. This is a non-profit activity for which we have received many kind words from the many senior citizens who regularly attend.

With regard to the internal architecture of the Odeon Brighton in comparison to the Odeon Edinburgh, this is simply a reflection of the decades in which they were constructed.

The Edinburgh building came into being in 1930, when ornate detail was the order of the day, that of Brighton in the Sixties, when functionality was key. However, ultimately, one's preference is personal choice.

Having worked in the cinema industry for many years and heard countless criticisms of new multiplex cinemas with "no soul, personality or individuality", I believe the Odeon in Brighton to be a unique building which suits a unique city.
