Brighton and Hove is the City of Culture all right - if you mean the kind of culture that grows on the rotting food and used nappies that line our streets.

When relatives visited recently, I was ashamed to walk with them along streets covered in stinking rubbish.

One of them, who lives in London, commented how dirty it was here.

Recently, I was in Nottingham and was amazed to see a street-sweeping van come round three times during the lunch hour alone.

The city centre was clean and full of flowers. It was great. Why can't we have that here?

When will the council get this sorted out instead of wasting our money chasing meaningless titles and giving us empty promises?

We want regular, reliable rubbish collections, clean streets and doorstep recycling collections now.
