Hastings hope the player they call the Honey Monster will start scaring the life out of opposition defences in the Dr Martens premier division.

Striker Chris Honey has not scored in four matches and all three of United's goals have come from the penalty spot, courtesy of Danny Simmonds.

But, after scoring 13 times last season, the teenager has developed an insatiable appetite for goals.

The 19-year-old marksman said: "I want to go out and play well for the team and the manager, who has shown a lot of faith in me.

"We had a great season last year winning the eastern division but this season will be harder. I know it is a step up, but I am confident I can score goals in this division."

As for his unusual nickname, Honey added: "Terry White started it when he coached at the club. I don't mind but I'm more of a Frosties man myself."

Hastings picked up four points during the Bank Holiday weekend after losing their first two fixtures and will be anxious to build on that when they entertain Hednesford Town tomorrow.

Manager George Wakeling welcomes back creative midfielder Duncan McArthur after a four-match ban. Paul Ruddy (groin) and right wing back Steve Yates (thigh) are out. Veteran defender Stuart Playford (toe) is expected to be fit.
