Regarding the Portside project. As I am not a resident of Eastbourne (but was born and bred there), I know I have no right to vote.
But I do wish to say I feel the residents are right in rejecting high-rise buildings in the area.
If some new homes are required, make them fit in. High-rises end up looking scruffy and always take so much away from a place of beauty.
The one along the seafront stands out like a sore thumb.
The town council should rethink what it is doing. Do it with some taste.
