Sixties sensation Petula Clark and eighties icon Limahl will top the bill at the UK's most popular free gay festival.

The chart-topping singers have confirmed they will perform at Pride in Brighton and Hove 2002 on Saturday.

The free festival last year attracted a record 60,000 gay, lesbian and transgendered people into Brighton.

Petula Clark is one of the most successful singers this country has produced and is best know for hits such as Downtown, This is My Song and Sailor.

For those a little younger, the heartthrob with the haircut Limahl will also be performing on the main stage at the event in Brighton's Preston Park.

Limahl reached fame with the band Kajagoogoo and is best known for their hit Too Shy.
